Lead Bartender

Company Description:  

Chattermark Distillers was founded as a small batch, made-from-scratch distillery in Charlestown, Mass. We source grain exclusively from New England family farms and mash, ferment, distill, age, and bottle on site in Boston’s oldest neighborhood. As our products make their way across Massachusetts, we also invite the public to our distillery to experience our spirits at our Cocktail Bar.  

Job Description:  

We’re seeking a full-time Lead Bartender to manage our Cocktail Bar. This role will lead the bar team during service and will work directly with our Hospitality Manager to make improvements to the overall guest experience. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, cocktails and is professional, and leads by example. This role is meant for anyone with hospitality experience looking to increase their responsibilities, build their knowledge of spirits, and grow on a management team.  

Other Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Manage the opening/closing of the bar 

• Responsible for all aspects of bartending, providing knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous service at the bar  

• Assist Hospitality Manager with distillery tours and tastings  

• Able to educate and effectively communicate information to all staff members 

• Assist with inventory updates  

Desired Qualifications: 

• 1-2 years of previous experience in hospitality 

• Thorough knowledge of spirits and classic cocktails  

• Strong interpersonal & hospitality skills 

• Results-driven, with a proven ability to be a self-starter  

• Work well in a team-oriented environment  

• Availability to work nights and weekends 

• Maintain a positive attitude with mature judgment and behavior  

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)  

• TIPS Certified and Serve Safe a plus

Expected Schedule: 

In Service – 3 - 4 shifts per week, weekend availability  

1 office day with Hospitality Manager for menu, event, and operational assistance
